The Eucharist is “the source and summit of the Christian life.”134 “The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it. For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself, our Pasch.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church 1324)
Students of St. Clement’s Church traditionally celebrate First Eucharist on the first Sunday in May of their second grade year.
- They begin “Preparation for the Journey” with a family retreat in the spring of their first grade year.
- Following First Reconciliation, students continue to attend weekly Faith Formation classes either Sunday mornings with the parish, or through Cathilic School Education.
- Students and their families participate in a First Communion Retreat during the Spring of the second grade year. It is our tradition to share a pot-luck or other community meal during this retreat.
- Practices will be held for students and families the week prior to First Communion. Pictures will also be taken during out “dress rehearsal” for the big day.
Please see the Parish Religious Education Calendar for more information. More detailed information will be posted and sent to families as it becomes available.
